Hi, it's Edward, I'm here to tell you some new things from Class 10 and what we've been doing.

Literacy 

In literacy we have been looking at the video 'Alma' and have been writing stories around the idea.

Alma may be unsuitable for children under year 3/4.

ICT

In ICT we have been doing scratch and have been making programs. Mine is a one called 'Cat Scat'. Click here to visit the scratch website.

Hello and welcome to our blog!
my name is Mathilda and I am exited to share with you the learning we have been doing this term in year 5/6.

ENGLISH

In English this term we have been reading the           

tale of two cities by Charles dickens. We have
been enjoying it thoroughly and are experiencing
the highs and lows with lots of different emotions!

so far we have written a narrative based on the video

of Alma, a persuasive letter between Lucy and the                                 class 10's France display

prison guard, a argument text, and lots more.

P.E

in p.e this term we are doing rhythmic gymnastics with a

coach from henry cort! so far we have learnt how to incorporate beanbags and hoops into  balances. the balances we made were from the traditional gym moves-straddle and pike. we are all enjoying this and we can't wait to learn more.

Redlands class 10 year 5/6 blog by Amber

Welcome to Amber's blog I will be telling you
about the topic we have been up to.

 English

A couple of days ago we watched a mysterious alma video .We had to set the sence of the beginning , Some of the work we did were very interesting and full of  wonder. The second part  we did is watch the whole video and describe how Alma  is feeling .Most of the children in class 10 thought the video was eye caching and very creepy.

Art

In art we have been trying all sorts of different textures and seeing witch one we like best .These textures were based on French artists and then we copied how they draw/paint there art but we made our own pictures. It was a fun experience and every body enjoyed painting and drawing this has been one of the best art lessons ever we had learnt so much. 

 

Maths

In maths we have been learning about, decimals fractions and percentages. At first nearly every child didn't understand what to do, so our teacher came along and taught us how to do. It was really easy once we got the hang of it we learnt how to turn percentages into fractions. We have also been learning about long multiplication, long division,collum addition and collum subtraction.

Science

In science we have also been learning about the moon and different planets. We had so much fun because we got into partners and then we made a poster about everything we know. We watched a video before this of how the moon changes its shape, and how slow/fast can the moon, sun and earth turn. It was really fun designing our posters with information and diagrams it might of took a long time but we got there in the end. Someday the younger children in the years beneath us would probably read it and become experts at science themselves.

We have been learning about artists this term. we are also learning about France. so we decided to do both! we have been painting famous landscapes around France. also, we have looked at some of the famous impressionist artists in France! Here is a painting done by Jack in our school. He chose to paint in the style of Henry Matisse.

I think this is very good! Do you agree?

Reading

we have been reading a great book this term!

Year 5,6 have been reading a book called 'A tale of two cities'

written by the famous author Charles Dickens. We are reading a shortened version of this story by 'Real Read' as it would take a long time to read the original!

 

 

                                           its a great book and I recommend it to anyone who loves adventures!












                                     P.E

In P.E we have been doing Morris dancing!  (a traditional dance performed by England). We have been having so much fun. Morris dancing is a great way to learn different style dancing. it involves: sticks, bells and mollies.

                                MATHS                                 


In maths we have been doing decimals, fractions and percentages. I love maths because it's so fun. We have been given tricky problems to solve in our math books. Do you think you are a math superstar? Then try some of these questions.

Osmington Bay is a school trip that all year 6 pupils attend to. There are lots of fun activities to do and many good memories to be made. The year 6s stay at Osmington for 1 week and share a dormitory with 3 other friends of their choice!

this is zip wire:

zip wire is when you shuffle to the end of a platform up high in the sky and you get harnessed in. Next you jump of and experience the wind blowing in your hair as you zoom past Osmington Bay!

this is climbing wall:
Climbing wall is where you get harnessed in and you climb up a wall. This was so fun because you get to race your friends up the wall!

P.E.  

   AT REDLANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Hi it's Todd and I'm here to take you on a P.E journey with Redlands Primary School . We have loved every second of it . We look for your true colours in : Gymnastics , Football , Netball , Tag Rugby and Mini Games. A specialist P.E teacher comes in each week to teach us new sports like the ones above.

Here is a picture of our Sports Day which we hold every year at the end of June. You should see how fast we can run and how well we work as a team!

Here is Jay the second fastest boy in our school. I'm not the fastest but I'm still the 3rd fastest . The fastest boy in our school is called Logan. The 4th fastest is James another blogger on this blog.
